There are several aspects that make us different. One is the fact that we do not charge a processing fee. Another is the fact that all of our national pastors are associated with a foreign missionary. A third difference is the fact that we do not have a set way we operate in each country. We allow the missionary and national pastors to tell us how we can best help their ministry. We also send support on a monthly basis, while others send it bi-monthly, or even quarterly.
General
-
Each national pastor that CORE represents is associated with a foreign missionary. While the avenues by which we send funds to each pastor differs by country, the constant is that the funds are send through a foreign missionary.
Each month that support is sent, we require the national pastor to fill out an Accountability Report. On this report that pastor indicates how much money he received. This ensures that CORE sent the correct amount, at the same time ensuring the foreign missionary gave all that was sent for the pastor.
-
CORE is a registered non-profit organization with offices in Georgia. Yearly reports and documents are filled out and send in that are required by government to maintain our status.
Accountability
-
A national pastor is simply a man pastoring in the country of his birth.
-
All of the national pastors that CORE represents were recommended to us by a foreign missionary. These missionaries are veteran missionaries, with proven ministries in their countries. These missionaries recommend worthy pastors to CORE to consider partnership.
-
This simply goes back to accountability. While we are confident that there are very worthy national pastors, in need of support, that do not have any affiliation with a foreign missionary, we would not have a way for accountability.
Pastors that are recommended to us by the foreign missionary are men that have proven themselves over the years.
-
We rely heavily on the foreign missionary for this information. We understand that each this amount can vary from each country, village, family, and even ministry.
We take careful consideration to ensure that the pastor has enough for his needs, but not to a degree that would be detrimental to the himself or the ministry.
-
Each country, ministry, missionary, and village is unique. Before a national pastor is accepted with CORE, great communication is had between CORE and the missionary. One of the items discussed is the length of time that the national pastor will need support. A large variable in this is the village where the pastor will be pastoring, and whether or not he will be a church planter. Some villages just do not have the financial infrastructure to be able to support a pastor fully; no matter how large the church grows. However, some church churches in some village will be able to support their pastor at some point. We ask our missionaries to review their national pastors annually. Some pastors can be fully supported in as short as a couple years, while others may take several years.
-
The short answer to this is no. We do not bring national pastors to America to raise their support.
There are many reasons why we do not feel this is the best approach. but will share one reason. What it costs for a national to travel to America, to care for his accommodations, transportation, and food, would be equivalent to several years salary.
National Pastors
-
100% is given to the national pastor.
-
CORE is based out Pinecrest Baptist Church and is given office space. We do not have to rent offices or pay for internet or electricity. This greatly reduces our over-head expenses.
-
Due to the fact that we are based out of Pinecrest Baptist Church, there is very little expense to running the ministry. However, we know that as we grow, so will our expenses.
Those interested in supporting our ministry can do so by making checks payable to CORE Missions and mailing them to PO Box 3061, McDonough, GA 30253. Or, donations can be made by clicking DONATE.
-
There is no set way that we send funds overseas. When we partner with a foreign missionary, we allow that missionary to tell us how to best send funds. In some cases, we send funds through the missionaries mission board. In other cases, we use Western Union.
There are certain situations where sending funds to a national pastor will jeopardize the safety of that national pastor. In these cases, steps are taken to ensure that the funds are delivered, while minimizing the risk to the national pastor.
-
Each pastor or ministry has a profile page. There are links and directions on how to send support on these pages. The easiest way to send support is via the internet. Once you clink the link, a PayPal page appears. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account to use this. As long as you have a credit or debit card, you can enter your information and proceed that way. On this page, you will also be able to select the option to have your support automatically deducted on a monthly basis. Another way to sponsor a pastor or ministry is by sending a check addressed to CORE Missions, with the pastor or ministry name in the subject field. Checks should be sent to PO Box 3061, McDonough, GA 30253.
